Using cadaver instruction in graduate-level courses anatomy is an expensive and time consuming effort. While this is a worthwhile endeavor, most first-year medical students and students in the health field struggle with independent, self-learning approach in the cadaver lab, and beyond memorizing the material. Thus, the effective assessment tools to maximize student learning in the cadaver lab is very important, especially if there is no component present study. quality dissection is often reflect the student’s attention to detail and because it could be associated with the overall performance in the course.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between table quizzes weekly and overall student outcomes in human dissection class biomedical graduates as well as examining the benefits and implications of this approach. In this course, the quiz rated quality dissection unique weekly structured and probed student understanding of human anatomy. student data compiled from a 5-year course dissection were analyzed to evaluate the relationship between performance in the weekly ratings and the inspection unit. The results showed a statistically significant correlation between the weekly quizzes and exams of students at the end of each block dissection in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The data shows a potential correlation between performance on a weekly quiz and the inspection unit.
The unique properties of the table quiz provides students with the opportunity to practice their knowledge retrieval, feel more guided throughout their dissection, and receive immediate feedback on their performance. This assessment tool also provides a way to predict the results of the students and an opportunity for early intervention to help students at risk. The analysis of this study contributes to the need for more data on the use of assessment tools in the graduate class of human dissection.
mast cell activation syndrome – evaluation of current diagnostic criteria and laboratory tools in clinical practice (Review)
Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) represent a heterogeneous clinical entity that is caused by the activation of mast cells and heavy episodic, including mast cell disorders primary and secondary (MCDS). Mcds primary or clonal group refers to systemic mastocytosis, clonal MCAS and other hypertryptasemia hereditary, while the secondary MCAS characterized by abnormal mast cells (MC) which is activated by external triggers, such as allergens or physical stimulation.
Another category of the MCAS is a form of idiopathic, when no trigger or genetic mutations can be identified. Symptoms are due to the activation of mast cells release certain mediators and can be seen in many diseases, such as allergies, with local or systemic clinical manifestations.
